To understand decoloniality and Western modernity requires to understand previously coloniality and Western modernity. In reality there is no Western modernity without Western coloniality. Hence, Western modernity/coloniality has to be explained. On the other hand, there is no modernity that it is not Western modernity. Modernity in glued to Western Civilization (for that is what we mean by Western) and coloniality. Or, to put it differently, modernity/coloniality is the very foundation of Western Civilization. And where does decoloniality fit into the scheme? Modernity/coloniality engenders decoloniality. This paragraph is written from the perspective of decoloniality. It is a decolonial paragraph.
