LARC Fellow to receive CALACS Distinguished Fellow Award 2018

LARC Fellow and former acting director, Dr. Hendrik Kraay, will receive this year’s Distinguished Fellow Award from the Canadian Association for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CALACS).

Dr. Kraay has been teaching in the Department of History for over 20 years. He obtained his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. He has held several administrative positions, including History Department Head (2011-16), Acting Director of the Latin American Research Centre (2014-15), and now Latin American Studies Program Coordinator.

This award is conferred to members and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to CALACS and whose actions have contributed to furthering its vision and mission. The award will be presented in a ceremony at the CALACS Congress in Montreal (May 16-18, 2018).
