Latin American Research Centre
we expand horizons
The Latin American Research Centre Fellows are scholars and researchers representing numerous faculties and comprise the core of LARC activities. LARC seeks to provide stronger institutional structure to Fellows, to recognize individual research initiatives and achievements, and to facilitate individual and collaborative research in general. Each of these elements is important to developing the Centre and to advancing the range of disciplines and fields embraced by studies in and on Latin America. To apply to become a Fellow, please send a CV and 1-2 page statement of purpose to firstname.lastname@example.org.
LARC relies on its Advisory Board for internal and external input. The internal focus of the Board is on policy and program development. Externally, the Board members act as champions of the Latin American Research Centre with the general public for purposes of advocacy building, constituency development, fundraising and increased positive community relations. Board members have demonstrated leadership in their fields and are able to contribute to the direction and development of the Latin American Research Centre both through their own advisory activities and by providing access to others who may have the potential to contribute in some way to the Centre.
LARC is supported by a Director and Program Coordinator. In addition, LARC regularly hosts graduate students in residence as well as international students and scholars from diverse disciplines and faculties to collaborate on research relevant to the academic, business, government and global communities, including public policy research on current issues.
LARC welcomes applications from graduate students from the University of Calgary as well as faculty from outside of the University of Calgary who seek visiting affiliation with LARC in order to conduct research on Latin America in Calgary. To apply to become a Visiting Fellow or Visiting Graduate Student, please send a CV, 1-2 page statement of purpose, and 2 letters of reference to email@example.com. Please clearly explain a rationale for conducting research at the University of Calgary and identify confirmed collaborators, if applicable. For information on the Call for Nominations for Graduate Student Fellows in Residence please email firstname.lastname@example.org. The current deadline for Graduate Students in Residence for 2017-2018 is June 1, 2017.
