Join LARC for the first screening of our fall series of classic cinema with the highly-acclaimed Argentinian film La deuda interna (Veronico Cruz, 1988). A teacher arrives to work in a rural northern Argentina and meets a young man from the area whom he tries to slowly open up to see the world. However, the teacher learns more than he expected as they travel to the city to learn more about the disappearance of the young man's father. They learn about the hardships of marginalized populations and the enduring, unforgiving legacies of ignorance and subjugation. Q&A with a local expert will follow the screening.
